The Health and Safety Manager for Personal Sector Banking was concerned that branch staff were not taking the annual workplace assessment seriously, tending to regard it as a ‘box-ticking' exercise. It was thought that some more effective means of assessment was needed to help avoid the unnecessary appearance of repetitive strain injuries.
Members of the Hiltrain team designed a piece of web-based training that led users through the health and safety check, integrating training with the completion of the assessment.
The attractive website, with its animated photographs and multiple-choice questions, achieved the aim of making people think about their answers and raised their awareness of simple remedies to common problems.
